(FSUE «RFNC – VNIITF named after Academ. E.I. Zababakhin»)
in the year of its 70th anniversary of foundation
announces the XVII International Conference
“ZABABAKHIN SCIENTIFIC TALKS”
May 19–23, 2025
Snezhinsk, Chelyabinsk region, Russia
Zababakhin Scientific Talks is a highly recognized scientific forum on high-energy density physics (HEDP), where scientists share latest achievements, review results of research programs, and discuss directions of further study.
The Conference is named after Evgenii Ivanovich Zababakhin (1917–1984), a prominent scientist, whose research strongly influenced HEDP evolution in Russia. The range of scientific interests of Evgenii Ivanovich was unusually wide. He served as a Scientific Director of RFNC–VNIITF for 25 years. At that period RFNC–VNIITF demonstrated outstanding achievements in several key fields.
Cumulation phenomena always stayed in focus of Zababakhin’s scientific activities. In his later years, Zababakhin summarized those studies in a monograph “Phenomena of unlimited cumulation”. Cumulation pheno-mena are still of great interest to global research community and the Zababakhin Scientific Talks Conference provides a great platform for lively discussions of the matter.
Subject Matter
The topics of the Conference cover the main areas of HEDP and are presented in seven sections:
- High-intensity processes, turbulence and space protection of the Earth;
- Explosion and detonation phenomena;
- Dense plasma phenomena;
- Properties of matter at high-intensity processes;
- Nuclear power engineering and hydrogen energy technologies;
- Numerical methods, algorithms, codes and accurate solutions; and
- Artificial intelligence methods, technologies and applications.
The Conference addresses both traditional and new areas of research. It covers the methods of reaching high energy density; problems of their application in modern physical facilities; high-intensity processes in laboratory experiments, technical applications, and natural phenomena, including astrophysical processes. The Conference also considers fundamental aspects of nuclear power engineering and radiation medicine, as well as numerical simulation of individual processes and complex phenomena, along with artificial intelligence.
